App coming that will guide users through Emmett Till's last days

An app is being developed that will use GPS technology and eventually virtual reality that will mark monuments and places explaining the life and death of Emmett Till. Developers hope to have it ready by August 28, the anniversary of Till’s death.

The app will guide users to 10 destinations in the Mississippi Delta and two in Chicago, providing narratives about the site during the time of Till's death as well as afterward. It will also allow people to see archival documents and photographs pertaining to particular sites.

This is a wonderful use of technology to mark Bryant’s Grocery & Meat Market without needing the cooperation of or benefitting the Tribble family.
